The couple wed in Los Angeles on Saturday (April 21) with family and close friends in attendance, reports People.

Diamond apparently met McNeil during the filming of his documentary Neil Diamond: Hot August Night NYC in 2009. McNeil served as the executive producer for the film and is now his manager.

The ‘Sweet Caroline’ singer announced their engagement in September through Twitter.

“Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you’re the first I want to tell/ Katie & I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well,” he posted.

Diamond was previously married twice prior to tying the knot with McNeil. It is her first marriage.

Last year, Diamond, who has been in the industry for five decades, received the ‘Icon Award’ at the Billboard Music Awards 2011.
